I’ve always had a deep love for animals, growing up on a small farm surrounded by them, but dogs have always held a special place in my heart. My journey with dogs began with my earliest memories of a patient, gentle soul who allowed toddler me to dump sand all over him without a care.

As a child, I dreamed big—envisioning a world where all my animals would live on the third floor of my enormous imaginary mansion. That love and connection grew as I raised my “children” dogs, a pair of littermates I trained in obedience alongside my husband. Those two taught me so much more than I ever taught them—unconditional love, patience, and resilience as we navigated their numerous health challenges together.

Today, my bond with dogs continues through my current companion, a service dog who is always by my side, watching my every move with unwavering loyalty. Dogs have taught me some of life’s most valuable lessons: how to greet the world with joy, how to let go and forgive, and how to live fully in the present moment. They’ve been my greatest teachers and most steadfast friends.
