Dog-Friendly Beaches in New Jersey

Asbury Park Dog Beach
Located on the 8th Avenue beach, this spot welcomes dogs off-leash during designated hours. From May 16 to September 14, dogs are allowed on the beach from 6 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. During the off-season, they can enjoy the beach all day. It's a favorite among locals for its friendly atmosphere and beautiful views. 

Island Beach State Park
Stretching over 10 miles, this barrier island offers pet-friendly areas where leashed dogs can enjoy the natural beauty of the dunes and surf. Note that pets are not permitted on the ocean swimming beaches from Memorial Day weekend through the first of October. 

Longport Dog Beach (Somers Point)
An unofficial yet popular spot, Longport Dog Beach allows dogs to run off-leash and play in the surf. It's a laid-back beach where dogs can socialize and enjoy the waves. 

Dog-Friendly Hiking Trails in New Jersey

South Mountain Reservation – West Orange
This expansive park covers over 2,000 acres and features a variety of trails suitable for all skill levels. Leashed dogs are welcome, and the Hemlock Falls trail offers a scenic waterfall that's a must-see. 

Ramapo Mountain State Forest – Passaic County
Offering a mix of challenging hikes and easier walks, this forest provides stunning views of the Ramapo Lake and surrounding mountains. It's a great spot for dogs who love to explore diverse terrains. 

Manasquan Reservoir – Monmouth County
This 1,200-acre park features a 5-mile perimeter trail that's perfect for a leisurely walk with your pup. The trail offers panoramic views of the reservoir and is a favorite among local dog owners.

Kim Marie's Eat n Drink Away – Asbury Park
Located just a block from the boardwalk, Kim Marie's offers a pet-friendly outdoor seating area. They even have a dog menu, ensuring your pup enjoys the dining experience as much as you do. 

Paragon Tap & Table – Clark
This gastropub not only offers a diverse menu for humans but also features a dog menu with items like barkcuterie boards and frozen treats. Their pet-friendly outdoor seating makes it a popular spot for dog owners. 

Willow Creek Winery & Farm – West Cape May
Set on a 50-acre farm, this winery welcomes leashed dogs on their outdoor patio. Enjoy wine tastings and charcuterie boards while your pup relaxes by your side.
